College of Computer Sciences and Informatics discuss the preparations at "Amman Arab University” for the 2024-2025 Academic Year
The College of Computer Sciences and Informatics at Amman Arab University held an extensive meeting chaired by the Dean, Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, with the attendance of Vice Dean Dr. Rami Sahweil, Assistant Dean Dr. Kamal Alian, department heads, and faculty members. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the latest preparations for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.
The meeting came as part of the faculty’s continuous efforts to achieve its strategic goals and enhance the quality of its educational outcomes. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Hamad reviewed the academic plans and programs to be implemented during the year, focusing on updating the curricula in line with the latest developments in the fields of computer science and information technology. The aim is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to keep pace with the rapid changes in these fields.
Dr. Al-Hamad emphasized the importance of obtaining international academic accreditations as a global standard of educational quality, congratulating the Software Engineering Department for receiving EUR-ACE international accreditation. He encouraged other departments to follow the same path and stressed the need to regularly update curricula to ensure they keep up with the latest developments in computer science and meet the needs of the job market.
Al-Hamad also highlighted the importance of adhering to quality standards at all stages of the educational process, starting with designing curricula and ending with evaluating student performance. He underscored the significance of providing academic support and guidance to help students overcome challenges during their studies. Furthermore, he affirmed continuing international and local cooperation with global academic and research institutions to exchange experiences and knowledge, strengthening the faculty’s international standing.
The meeting included setting a comprehensive action plan featuring several initiatives and projects to achieve the faculty’s strategic goals. Among the key initiatives are equipping laboratories with the latest devices and technologies to provide an ideal learning environment for students, supporting scientific research by providing necessary resources, encouraging faculty and students to publish their research in peer-reviewed journals, and strengthening cooperation with the private sector by building partnerships with IT companies and institutions to provide students with practical training opportunities and promote graduates.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad reaffirmed the college’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and preparing qualified professionals capable of competing in the labor market. He noted that the faculty will continue its efforts to develop its academic programs and enhance its position as a center of excellence in computer science and Informatics.
