Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, Governor of Balqa, confirmed during his sponsorship of the celebration of the trilogy of pride (the independence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan 78, the Royal Seating, and the Silver Jubilee) and Communities Day at Amman Arab University in the presence of Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, the president’s assistants, deans of colleges, directors of administrative units, and members of the academic, administrative, university students and representatives of diplomatic bodies in Jordan said that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, since its founding and under the Hashemite leadership, has witnessed remarkable development from the stage of establishment, renaissance and construction to the stage of strengthening and development at all educational, medical and military levels.
He stated that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a country protected by God in light of all the circumstances surrounding it, and that Jordan always embraces everyone. He pointed out that we are proud and rejoicing in our independence, but our joy is diminished due to the bloody wound that our people in the Gaza Strip and Palestine suffer, and he stressed that Jordan and Palestine are integrated entities, through Jordan's clear position with the vision of the, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, and His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, by bringing the Palestinian issue back to the whole world despite attempts to keep it away from the entire world, and we as Jordanians offer our children as a sacrifice for the homeland and Palestine. During his sponsorship of the celebration, he sent a telegram of loyalty and pride to His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein from Balqa Governorate in general and from Amman Arab University in particular, this university, which we are proud to have in our beloved Kingdom and our region.
In turn, Prof. Al-Widyan said during his speech that today at Amman Arab University we celebrate the 78th Independence Day, which falls on the twenty-fifth of May, and we remember the declaration of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as an independent state. Since then, the noble Hashemites have carried the banner of governance, generation after generation. They have led its path with wisdom and ability, and provided the sacrifices of the free Jordanians behind them, so that Jordan is a free and independent state whose structure is complete and whose entity is firmly established, in addition to celebrating the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II assuming his constitutional powers, which coincided with the anniversary of independence, over the course of twenty-five years, His Majesty has held the reins of government, following the process of construction and development begun by the late His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, may God rest his soul, during which Jordan witnessed radical transformations at all levels, politically, economically and socially. This stage was characterized by fundamental reforms and tangible developments in various sectors from education and health to diplomacy and others, which in turn demonstrate His Majesty the King’s comprehensive vision and its translation into a comprehensive renaissance and the strengthening of Jordan’s position and steadfastness as a force for stability and progress in a regional and international environment full of challenges. His Majesty sought to achieve the hopes of the nation, and strengthening its Arabism based on its principles, adopting its crucial issues, especially the Palestinian issue, seeking to solve it in a comprehensive and just solution and establishing the independent State of Palestine on the Palestinian national territory with East Jerusalem as its capital, and preserving the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites there.
For his part, Prof. Khaled Bani Hamdan, Dean of Student Affairs, said that Amman Arab University celebrates the trilogy of pride and honor, as an affirmation that the homeland is the incubator of the past, present, and future and is in the hearts and consciences forever. He pointed out that Independence Day is a beacon for the lofty values and noble goals that the anniversary entails, such as serving the homeland ,and upholding his word, preserving its identity and components, defending it, and promoting its renaissance, and he stated that the University is proud of the presence of our guests, including ambassadors, cultural attachés, and diplomats, among Jordan’s distinguished guests among us, and we appreciate your care for our students through our celebration of Communities Day.
The celebration included poetry recitals, a performance by the university's choral band, and the opening of the Communities Exhibition, in which the participating countries displayed their popular heritage, cultural and human history.
