The Opening of the Activities of the International Refereed Scientific Conference of the Colleges of Sharia and Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University
Under the patronage of His Eminence, the President of the Supreme Shari'a Court , President of the Shari'a Judicial Council, Sheikh Kamal Al-Smadi, the activities of the international scientific conference entitled "Contemporary Trends in Achieving Community Security in the Light of Shari'a and Educational Objectives" began. The sponsor of the ceremony opened the activities of the conference in the presence of the President of Amman Arab University, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, which was jointly organized by the College of Sharia and the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University. In his opening speech, Al-Smadi said: Talking about society is talking about the human being who is God’s structure on the earth, and that the meanings of worship and the meanings of building the earth can only be achieved through its righteousness and reform at the individual level and at the societal level, and that security if we want it and mention it is security in its comprehensive and integrated concept. In his speech, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, welcomed the University’s guests and said: It is an honor for us at Amman Arab University to meet today with a group of distinguished scholars, legal researchers and educators from all the sisterly Arab countries to participate in the work of the conference. Al-Widyan pointed out that we live in our country, Jordan, under the shadow of the wise Hashemite leadership, whose banner is held by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, may God preserve him, in security, safety, comfort and decision, and that the safety of our countries and the security of our homelands is everyone’s responsibility. In turn, the conference president, Dean of the College of Sharia at Amman Arab University, Dr. Bilal Abu Qaddoum, welcomed all the attendees from inside and outside the country at the Amman Arab University and pointed out the importance of the topic of the conference, which a group of specialists and researchers were keen to participate in, as the number of research papers submitted to participate in it reached three. Ninety research papers were accepted after arbitration, seventy-two research papers were accepted, and most of these accepted papers were published in a special issue of the conference. The Vice President of the Conference, Dean of the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences, Dr. Hiyam Al-Taj, indicated that the idea and title of the conference come in an attempt to find out what the era is witnessing in terms of societal violence, crises and conflicts noticeably different, which affect the security and stability of society. To find effective preventive and curative solutions derived from Islamic Sharia and educational philosophy, adding that this conference has a qualitative addition in this field. At the end of the ceremony, which was moderated by Dr. Murad Shakib, the President of the University, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, presented the University’s shield to the sponsor of the ceremony and to the conference’s sponsors from the sisterly State of Kuwait, Dr. Khaled Al-Sultan and Eng. Sheikh Daoud Al-Asousi, in appreciation of their continued support.
