
Dr. Al-Omari from Amman Arab University Receives Prestigious Research Grant from the University of Sharjah
As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to enhancing scientific research and in line with the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadyan, the University President, and the ongoing support of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ruba Al-Omari, Chair of the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University, along with Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, achieved a significant scientific accomplishment by winning a prestigious research grant during her participation in the 5th Women in Scientific Research Forum, organized by the University of Sharjah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.
The distinguished academic forum witnessed broad participation from 57 countries, with over 900 research proposals submitted, making it a highly competitive platform bringing together leading researchers across various scientific disciplines. Among these exceptional contributions, Dr. Al-Omari’s research stood out as one of the winning projects, due to its importance in the fields of sustainable urban development and social integration, highlighting the role of scientific innovations in addressing contemporary societal challenges.
Dr. Al-Omari participated with a research project titled "Spatial Assessment of Refugees Integration through the Lens of UN Sustainable Urban Development: A Case Study of Amman’s Abdali District Using SDG 11 Indicators." This research focuses on analyzing the alignment of refugee integration with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11), through a data-driven scientific study aimed at providing innovative insights to contribute to the creation of more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.
