College of Applied Medical Sciences at Arab Amman University (AAU) Hosts a Scientific Lecture Entitled “Laboratory Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases Using Molecular Techniques (PCR)”
In line with Arab Amman University’s commitment to enhancing health awareness and promoting medical culture among its students and the university community, the College of Applied Medical Sciences organized a scientific lecture entitled “Laboratory Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases Using Molecular Techniques (PCR).” The lecture was delivered by Mr. Ammar Abu Ghleion, a member of the Communicable Diseases Control Center in Jordan, and was attended by Dr. Wisam Al-Wazni, Acting Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences; Dr. Bilal Al-Shomali, Head of the Department of Medical Sciences; and a number of students from the College.
During the lecture, Mr. Abu Ghleion addressed the latest methods for diagnosing infectious diseases, with a particular focus on Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology in its various forms and applications in both research and diagnostic fields. He provided a scientific overview of the concept of infectious diseases, their modes of transmission, and the factors influencing their spread within communities. The lecture also highlighted recent advances in modern laboratory diagnostic techniques, the role of molecular technologies in improving the accuracy and speed of pathogen detection, and their importance in supporting national public health efforts and combating epidemics.
