First in the Arab World: "Aviation Sciences" at "Amman Arab University" Achieves AABI International Accreditation

In line with the Amman Arab University efforts to obtain international accreditations and under the direct guidance of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadyan, the university president, the College of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University achieved, by God's grace, the American accreditation issued by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) for the Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Maintenance.

On this occasion, Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadyan stated that the accreditation of the Aircraft Maintenance Bachelor's program by the International Aviation Council represents a significant and pioneering achievement for the college and the university. The university is the first in the Arab world and the eighth globally to receive this American international accreditation. He added that the Aircraft Maintenance specialization is the first of its kind in Jordan and the Arab region, having started teaching it in 2017/2018. He also pointed out that the college had previously obtained the European EASA accreditation.

For his part, the Dean of the College of Aviation Sciences, Dr. Malik Al-Salem Al-Anqara, mentioned that the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) was established in 1988 by 100 colleges and universities offering aviation programs, all recognizing the need to set global standards to enhance the outcomes of their programs and rank their peers. The board was intended to be the official accreditation body for all aviation disciplines worldwide. He explained that this accreditation has become a system for recognizing educational institutions and their professional programs that achieve and maintain high standards of performance, integrity, and quality, earning the trust of the educational and industrial communities they serve.

The dean also thanked Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the College of Engineering, for his valuable guidance and efforts during his deanship of the College of Aviation Sciences, and Dr.Ahmad Alhosban for his efforts in managing the accreditation file with the evaluation team over the past two years. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to all faculty members who contributed to preparing the self-evaluation report and conducting interviews, with special mention of the collective efforts of the Dean of Student Affairs, the Director of Admissions and Registration, and the Director of the Finance Department.

Thus, Amman Arab University becomes the first Jordanian and Arab university to obtain this accreditation in the field of aircraft maintenance, marking this achievement as a realization of its motto of leadership and excellence.
