Amman Arab University Organized Silver Jubilee Chess Tournament for Jordanian Universities
Under the patronage of President of Amman Arab University, Professor Mohammad Al-Widyan, the Ministry of Youth in collaboration with the university, AAU organized the Silver Jubilee Chess Championship for Jordanian Universities. The tournament was held in the university campus with the participation of 20 public and private universities. The event was inaugurated by Professor Ismail Yamin, who is Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs and representing the president of Amman Arab University. Dr. Khaled Bani Hamdan (the Dean of Student Affairs), Dr. Ahlam Al-Abadi (the youth director of the Jordanian governorate of Al-Balqa, representatives from the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation and several representatives from the participating universities were also attended the opening ceremony.
On this occasion, Dr. Yamin extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Abdullah II on the 25th anniversary of his assumption of constitutional powers. He encouraged students to engage in intellectual activities that develop mental capacities and wish them success. He expressed his delight in hosting the Ministry of Youth at Amman Arab University, commending their support and collaboration in organizing university championships.
Dr. Bani Hamdan highlighted that the organization of this tournament is part of the Kingdom's celebrations this year marking the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah II's reign. He extended his congratulations on this occasion and thanked the Royal Chess Federation for their support in ensuring the championship's success.
