Department of Software Engineering at "Amman Arab University" receives international academic accreditation from EUR-ACE
Department of Software Engineering at Amman Arab University has received a four-year international academic accreditation from EUR-ACE, a top global accrediting body for engineering programs, after excelling in a rigorous evaluation based on international standards. President of Amman Arab University, Prof. Mohammad Al-Widyan, celebrated this accomplishment as a testament to the university’s continuous success and leadership in academic excellence. He expressed gratitude to the faculty and department staff for their dedicated efforts and invited other departments to pursue international accreditations to achieve the university's strategic goals.
Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, Dean of the college, highlighted that achieving EUR-ACE accreditation reflects the college's commitment to academic and research excellence and to preparing students for competitive careers. He acknowledged the efforts of the faculty and administrative teams in supporting students’ professional and academic development through coursework and extracurricular activities such as workshops and training.
Dr. Fatima Al-Shunnaq, Head of Department of Software Engineering, emphasized the global significance of EUR-ACE accreditation, which signals high standards in student preparation, enhancing their employability and ability to address complex technical challenges. This accreditation is expected to pave the way for further local and international educational and professional opportunities for graduates.
An international accreditation committee of nine members conducted a comprehensive, three-day review at Amman Arab University. They met with university presidency, students, alumni, faculty, and industry partners. They visited local technology companies where graduates are employed. The committee commended the department and faculty for their high level of achievement in meeting all accreditation standards.
