Amman Arab University Launches Academic Development Plan for the First Semester of Academic Year 2024/2025

Professor Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, has launched the Academic Development Plan of academic year 2024/2025 to enhance faculty performance and align teaching methods with the latest advancements in higher education. The plan focuses on adopting interactive, student-centered teaching techniques to improve learning outcomes and ensure the university’s educational practices remain cutting-edge.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Widyan emphasized the importance of collaboration and continuous improvement among faculty. He stressed that sharing knowledge and leveraging the collective experience of the academic staff would help accelerate the quality of instruction and enhance the teaching-learning process. The plan also includes evaluating academic outcomes and creating activities to strengthen teaching effectiveness, ensuring that program goals are met. He noted that these efforts aim to benefit students, who are central to the university’s mission.

The plan proposes a range of teaching formats, including in-person, blended, and online methods, to meet diverse student’s needs and optimize the learning experience. Dr. Al-Widyan highlighted that these strategies are part of the university’s broader goal of empowering faculty with the best teaching practices.

Dr. Husam Al Hamad, Assistant to the President for Planning and Quality Assurance, welcomed the new initiative and stated that it aims not only to improve faculty performance but also to positively impact the student experience, thereby enhancing the university's reputation. He emphasized the importance of obtaining international accreditations and improving the university’s academic rankings on a global scale.

Professor Ismail Yamin, Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs, confirmed that the university’s training programs run twice a year, designed to boost faculty performance and strengthen international collaborations.
