Amman Arab University Participates in the Scientific Day Held by Jordan Pharmacists Association and Highlights the Role of Pharmacovigilance in Fostering Drug Safety
The College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University participated in the 17th Scientific Day organized by Jordan Pharmacists Association, titled "The Role of the Pharmacist in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs,". In Her lecture, Prof. Rana Abu Huwaij, the dean of College of Pharmacy featured the significance of pharmacovigilance in ensuring drug safety and the need for qualified specialists in the job market. She pointed out to a pioneering master's program at the university, aimed at preparing pharmacists to design effective regulatory strategies and ensure compliance with national and international pharmaceutical regulations.
Students of the Master's program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs participated effectively in the scientific day. The student Abeer Taqi Alddin talked about the role of regulatory affairs in the pharmaceutical industry and the benefits she gained from registering in the Master's program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs . Dr. Sana'a Al-Shakhsheer, head of the Scientific Committee, concluded the event by supplying recommendations to boost pharmacovigilance measures, including monitoring drug side effects and raising awareness among pharmacists. It is worth noting that the recommendations will be submitted to the Minister of Health and Jordan Food and Drug Administration to address challenges in health systems and take measures to utilize the means of artificial intelligence in pharmacy practices.
