Cooperation Agreement at “Amman Arab University” for People with Special Needs
Amman - Amman Arab University has concluded a joint cooperation agreement in the field of training and consultation with the International Center for People with Special Needs, by providing training diplomas and training courses for people with special needs to prepare them academically and professionally for the labor market.
The cooperation agreement was signed on behalf of the University by the president, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, and on behalf of the center by the general director, Mrs. Iman Joudah, in the presence of His Excellency Professor. Muhammad Al-Shammari, Saudi Cultural Attaché, Professor Salem Al-Dosari, Her Excellency Al-Ain, Mrs. Asia Yaghi, Dr. Wafa’ Al-Eid, Dean of the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences, delegates from the Ministry of Social Development, delegates from the Supreme Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Mrs. Mai Jaradat, Acting Director of the Consultation and Training Center.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Widyan said that the Counseling and Training Center and the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University are working to activate the participation of persons with disabilities in all fields, including their right to education, development and excellence, in addition to activating their role in society.
For her part, Mrs. Iman Joudah said that the International Center for People with Special Needs works to mitigate the effects of disability on students by using all means that make their integration into society possible. She indicated that the services the center provides to people with disabilities include various aspects, and she stated that the focus in dealing with these The category focuses on basic issues such as intensive teaching, and developing skills, providing rehabilitation services and treatment, both physical and occupational, in addition to teaching mosaic works in which the center’s students are creative.
It is noteworthy that Amman Arab University holds a work license from the Authority for the Development of Vocational and Technical Skills, making it one of the first Jordanian universities to obtain this license, according to which the Authority approves the certificates and training courses conducted by the Consulting and Training Center at Amman Arab University.
