Amman Arab University Implements a Training Workshop on “Relational Needs”
The Deanship of Student Affairs/Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, in cooperation with the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences/Department of Psychological and Educational Counseling at Amman Arab University, organized a training workshop entitled “Relational Needs,” presented by Professor. Suhaila Banat, a faculty member in the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the University, directed to the students in two levels. Bachelor, Master, graduate and local community.
In this regard, Professor. Khaled Bani Hamdan, Dean of Student Affairs, praised the readiness of the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences, represented by its Dean, Dr. Wafa Al-Eid, and the college’s academic staff, for such cooperation to raise awareness among students, which reflects positively on the University environment and society, and because it has a great impact on developing individual relationships and achieving their goals and ambitions.
The workshop included defining what is meant by relational needs, and applying a scale related to relational needs to the participants in the training workshop, in addition to giving examples and practical applications of that. During the workshop, Dr. Banat reviewed some of these needs, such as: (respect, appreciation, attention, affection, support, encouragement, and safety), and the participants interacted, expressing the extent to which they benefited from the training workshop provided and their desire to apply the standards they had acquired from the workshop. At the end of the training workshop, Dr. Bani Hamdan and Ms. Shatha Al-Rabie/ Head of the Counseling and Psychological Services Department - Deanship of Student Affairs handed over certificates to the participants.
