Amman Arab University Actively Participates in Combating Tobacco and Smoking
Amman Arab University believes in the danger of smoking and is committed to implementing the provisions of the Public Health Law by banning smoking in public institutions and bodies, and in an effort to preserve the health of its students and members of the teaching and administrative staff and to provide a healthy, smoke-free environment in the university ,Prof. Rana Abu Hweij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Engineer Raya Al-Daoud, participated as a representative of Amman Arab University in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of Jordanian Universities for Tobacco Control and Smoking, during which the administrative and financial report of the association was discussed and approved, and the executive plan of the change package for the association focused on Unifying efforts between universities in order to deepen health awareness of the harms of smoking and the benefits of quitting smoking, monitoring violators and reporting them to the competent authorities, and developing strategies to help quit smoking.
In this regard, Amman Arab University is committed to the membership activities of the Association of Jordanian Universities to combat smoking through the formation of a committee to combat smoking at the university level, which in turn has developed an executive plan that includes clear goals it seeks to achieve in the university "towards a smoke-free university".
