The Impact of Cybersecurity on National Security Conference at "Amman Arab University"

Amman - His Excellency Dr. Bassam Al-Talhouni affirmed that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has made remarkable progress in cybersecurity, expressing his pride for Amman Arab University, which is highly concerned with issues of digital technology and artificial intelligence that lead to comprehensive development.

During his sponsorship of the activities of the first international scientific conference on cybersecurity and national security, which was organized by Amman Arab University and in partnership with the Public Security Directorate, his excellency said that Jordan's vision in cybersecurity is (a confident and secure Jordan within the digital world and resistant to cyberthreat), and pointed out the importance of this conference, which came  In light of the increasing cyber risks at the local and international levels;  To spread cyber awareness in societies, learn about local and regional experiences in this field, increase knowledge of ways to achieve cybersecurity, and interact between local authorities, the Public Security Directorate, and inspiring international and regional figures of thought leaders in the field of technology from the public and private sectors.

The University organized the conference in partnership with the Directorate of Public Security and represented by each of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Interior, the National Center for Cybersecurity, and the Awareness Society for Information Protection (Cybersecurity) as one of the annual scientific events organized by Amman Arab University, which was entitled "The Impact of Cybersecurity on National Security"  With the participation of experts and researchers at the local and international levels.

In this regard, the President of the Amman Arab University / Conference President, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan said that Jordan, the countries of the region, and the world as a whole face clear challenges that require future thinking and preparation, especially amid the great demand and expansion in the use of technology and the Internet, which increases the risk and threats of cybersecurity that it will have catastrophic effects on the economy, security, and society in general if it occurs. We here in Jordan, like many countries, are vulnerable to such threats with financial or ideological political motives to spread the ideas of extremism and terrorism, by criminal states and gangs, as confirmed by the National Center for Cybersecurity, on this occasion, we appreciate the efforts of this center, which seeks with all its capabilities to protect the Kingdom from various threats.

In turn, Professor. Dhaher Al-Qurashi, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee, said that this conference witnessed participation from 18 countries and included eight axes specialized in general fields and specialized in cybersecurity and national security. (113) research papers will be discussed in person over two days, and he stressed that it is characterized by the diversity of scientific participation in it.  And the novelty and importance of its topics, which have become a global concern experienced by all countries, namely the impact of cybersecurity on national security.

And he indicated that the conference committees will formulate the most important results and recommendations of the conference in a final statement, and the specialists and those concerned with them will be provided to benefit from them and translate them into concrete realistic results. It is noteworthy that Dr. Al-Qurashi presented at the end of the opening ceremony the research paper on the martyr Brigadier General Dr.  (Challenges of Cybersecurity in Aviation Communications and Surveillance), where the martyr Al Dalabeh was one of the participants in the work of this conference.
