"Amman Arab University" Advanced by 685 points in the Green Metric 2022 Classification
Amman Arab University has made remarkable progress in the Green metric 2022 global classification, which is the classification that deals with the best environmentally friendly universities for the academic year 2022 among the top 1050 participating universities. It is worth-mentioning that the University advanced 685 points in this classification.
At the global level, the university advanced 44 ranks, achieving the 610th rank in the world, despite the joining of 94 new universities.
President of the University, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, stated that this classification is concerned with green universities and a sustainable environment, which consists of six main criteria: infrastructure, energy and climate change, solid and liquid waste treatment, water resources, transportation, education and research. Each criterion includes a set of detailed indicators.
Prof. Al-Widyan spoke about the great role of the university in achieving sustainable development, as the Amman Arab University is the headquarters of the Council for Sustainable Development at the level of the Arab world, in addition to the University's membership in the regional network for social responsibility. He indicated that the University won the Arab Council Award for Social Responsibility that was launched on the sidelines of the work conference Humanitarian and voluntary in the era of community leadership, for its project "Educational Grants for Poor Citizens and Refugee Siblings".
Prof. Al-Widyan appreciated the University's attainment of advanced ranks in the classification and appreciated the efforts of all University employees and the efforts of the Accreditation and Classification Department for their follow-up of all standards and the development and implementation of improvement and development plans.
