Amman Arab University Participates in the Scientific Day on "The Pharmacist's Responsibility in Combating Smoking"
Amman - College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University participated in the scientific day held at the University of Petra / Center for Pharmaceutical Studies, marked by “The Pharmacist’s Responsibility in Combating Smoking”. The college was represented by Ms. Raya Al-Daoud and the two students, Adian Al-Qaisi and Furqan Al-Qaisi from the Scientific Research Club of the College of Pharmacy
The event dealt with awareness lectures with the participation of the Ministry of Health, the Pharmacists Syndicate, the King Hussein Cancer Center, Joswe Company, and the Anti-Smoking Committee at the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University. In addition to presenting successful stories that quit smoking after applying to them structured protocols led by the pharmacist to deal with smokers through a smoking cessation clinic.
In this context, Prof. Rana Abu Hweij, Chair of the Higher Committee for Smoking Control at Amman Arab University, affirmed the full support of the university administration for the activities of the committee in combating smoking, especially the pioneering step in establishing a smoking cessation clinic at the university, which will include students of the College of Pharmacy, the College of Sharia, and the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences in an effort to reduce the percentage of smokers in society in general and the university in particular.
