Hanandeh: "Amman Arab University" is distinguished in Employing Virtual Reality Techniques in the Educational Process
Amman – His Excellency the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Ahmad Hanandeh, expressed his admiration for the e-learning and virtual and augmented reality technologies at Amman Arab University, stressing the importance of keeping pace with global developments in the field of communications and information technology in all Jordanian universities.
Al-Hanandeh was briefed on the techniques of e-learning, virtual and augmented reality applied in all colleges of the university, which were adopted as a first stage by teaching more than one hundred interactive lectures that include three-dimensional models in a number of faculties’ courses.
In this regard, the President of Amman Arab University, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, said that believing in and in accordance with the slogan of entrepreneurship and excellence at Amman Arab University, the university has invested more than $ 5 million in virtual and integrated reality technologies in education in the various faculties of the university to raise education to the levels that the university aspires to the delivery of its students to it, as the university signed an agreement with the American company EON Reality, the leading American company in the field of virtual and augmented reality technologies, to achieve this goal.
For his part, the Director of the Center for E-Learning, Dr. Muhammad Nassar, said that the university, believing in the importance of benefiting from the digital revolution, was at the forefront of Jordanian and regional universities in adopting integrated and distance e-learning with high efficiency before the crisis of the Corona pandemic “COVID-19”, and focusing on practical aspects, and teaching laboratories interactively with the aim of keeping pace with technological developments in education by providing systems and software that support the creation of interactive lessons for augmented and virtual reality without the need for any programming or advanced technical knowledge with ease.
It is noteworthy that the Fourth International Scientific Conference in Computer Sciences and Informatics ICSIC2022 was held at Amman Arab University with large Arab and foreign participation of researchers and experts from the public and private sector, during which international academics were hosted to talk about the future of ICT technologies, and 30 papers were presented that were accepted out of 82 papers received by the conference will be published in a number of global databases such as Scopus, Web of Science and others.
