Delegation from the Libyan University of Sirte Visits Amman Arab University
Amman - President of Amman Arab University, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, received in his office on Saturday, President of the University of Sirte, Dr. Suleiman Al-Shater, in the presence of the cultural attaché at the Libyan Embassy, Dr. Ahmed Al-Dweik, Dr. Al-Tayeb Al-Qabi, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the University of Sirte, and Mr. Jalal Al-Alim, and from Amman Arab University, Vice- President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ikhlas Al-Tarawneh, Assistant to the President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, Director of the International Office and External Relations, Dr. Malik Al-Sarhan, Director of the Marketing Department, Dr. Muhammad Nassar, and Mr. Anas Kasu from the Department of Information and Public Relations.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of cooperation between Amman Arab University and the University of Sirte to enhance joint academic and research cooperation and implement several joint programs between the two universities to advance the educational process and develop partnership to serve the academic and teaching process between the two sides.
In this regard, Prof. Al-Widyan presented the stages of establishing the University, which dates back to 1997 when it was established by a decision of the Higher Education Council as a private, non-profit University specialized in graduate university studies. The University began teaching in 1999, under the name Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies; to be the first Jordanian University specialized in postgraduate programs for masters and doctoral studies; However, in 2009, it opened admission to undergraduate programs and its name became Amman Arab University.
Prof.Al-Widyan indicated that the University was recently included in the Jordanian National Qualifications Framework, which comes as a result of the University's excellence in its educational programs and its focus on all practical and research aspects. In all academic aspects, where he pointed out that the University has made great progress in a number of international classifications, which is the result of the efforts of all university employees, and stressed that graduate studies at the university have achieved a competitive advantage at the level of Jordanian universities.
In turn, the President of the University of Sirte, Dr. Suleiman Al-Shater, expressed his pride in being one of the distinguished graduates of the distinguished Amman Arab University in its second batch, and that this visit to my University, which has human wealth and the enhancement of all prospects of cooperation between Amman Arab University and the University of Sirte, is a key to working on transferring development to Libyan universities.
For his part, the Libyan cultural attache, Dr. Ahmed Al-Dweik, praised the important and qualitative role of Amman Arab University in upgrading the educational process at the level of the higher education sector in order to serve the reputation and prestige of Jordanian universities at the level of the Arab world.
