Amman Arab University and SPARK / Jordan Sign a Memorandum of Understanding
Amman Arab University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dutch organization SPARK/Jordan, where the memorandum of understanding aims to develop and enable the entrepreneurship environment at the University, and motivate students to innovate and establish their own entrepreneurial businesses by providing them with scientific and practical knowledge, and developing their skills in entrepreneurship and management of small projects to contribute to building a bright future for them.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the University by Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, the president of the University, and the organization by its regional director, Haneen Al-Khatib, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences, Dr. Hyiam Al-Taj, the Vice Dean, Dr. Rami Al-Shagran, Dr. Wafaa Al-Eid, and the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Rami Al-Hanandeh, and from the organization, Mr. Nermin Begovic, Director of Business Development and Curriculum in Higher Education Institutions and Ms. Hadeel Issa, and Communications Officer at Spark.
Dr. Al-Widyan indicated that Amman Arab University, since its inception, has focused on issues of entrepreneurship, promoting a culture of pioneering and voluntary work, stimulating students’ energies and directing them towards work paths, and providing opportunities for students in the field of voluntary pioneering work to serve the community, and that young people are the energy of the future and the desired hope.
In turn, Ms. Haneen Al-Khatib stressed the importance of making this cooperation between the University and SPARK a success, and also stressed the importance of developing the business environment and providing support to young entrepreneurs, looking forward to more aspects of cooperation and development for the benefit of both parties.
It is worth noting that the Dutch SPARK organization is an independent, non-profit development organization founded in 1994. It works in many countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, and is concerned with consolidating the rules of peace and stability, developing an entrepreneurial environment in higher education and empowering young entrepreneurs through training, development and support their pilot projects.
