
A Delegation from Amman Arab University Visits the Media Commission to Discuss Areas of Joint Cooperation
Amman – A delegation from Amman Arab University visited the Media Commission to discuss ways of cooperation between the University and the Commission in implementing various joint activities and the possibility of establishing a Faculty of Media. The delegation was received by Mr. Bashir Hassan Al-Momani, the Director General of the Commission, along with the University’s President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widayan, and the following members from the University: Mr. Waddah Masmar, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department, Ms. Mai Jaradat, Director of the Consulting and Training Center, and Mr. Mohammad Bani Yassin, Head of the Library Services Department. From the Commission, the attendees included Mr. Ayman Arabiat, Assistant Director General of the Commission, Ms. Nancy Al-Khasawneh, Director of Legal Affairs, and Ms. Intisar Al-Adwan, Director of Licensing.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of joint cooperation, including the establishment of a Faculty of Media in collaboration between the two parties and the possibility of opening graduate programs in the field of media. They also discussed potential activities that could be implemented together in the future to strengthen the relationship between Amman Arab University and the Media Commission, benefiting both the academic and media sectors in Jordan.
Dr. Al-Widayan expressed the importance of this collaboration between Amman Arab University and the Media Commission, emphasizing that the idea of establishing a joint Faculty of Media would be a significant step towards enhancing academic education in the field of media, in line with the latest developments in the sector. He also pointed out that the University is always striving to provide a developed educational environment that meets the needs of the labor market. Dr. Al-Wadayan added that this cooperation would open new horizons for students and the academic community, enhancing their ability to keep up with developments in the media field and preparing them to work in various media sectors, including journalism, television, and digital media. He also praised the vital role the Media Commission plays in regulating and developing the media sector in Jordan, expressing hope that this cooperation would be the beginning of other joint projects benefiting everyone.
For his part, Mr. Al-Momani provided an overview of the Media Commission and its vital role in regulating and developing the media sector in Jordan. He also reviewed the developments the Commission has witnessed in recent years, highlighting the importance of digitization and the shift to digital media in improving performance and expanding access to media information and services. He confirmed that the Commission is making significant efforts to achieve sustainable development in this field by keeping up with the latest digital technologies and enhancing digital media in Jordan. Mr. Al-Momani further added that the Commission is working to keep pace with global changes in the media field, noting that the future of media in Jordan and the Arab world is moving towards more digital interaction and modern technology, which opens vast opportunities for innovation and creativity in the media industry. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between educational institutions like Amman Arab University and the Commission to enhance the development of academic programs and open graduate programs that align with these changes, contributing to the preparation of professional media personnel capable of dealing with the media challenges in the digital age.
