President of Amman Arab University Visits Azerbaijani Embassy to Explore Academic and Cultural Cooperation

President of Amman Arab University (AAU) Visits Azerbaijani Embassy to Explore Academic and Cultural Cooperation

Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He was received by His Excellency Ambassador Eldar Salimov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Sehwal, Director of the International Office and External Relations at Amman Arab University, and several embassy staff members.

The meeting explored avenues to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between Amman Arab University and higher education institutions in Azerbaijan. Discussions covered mechanisms for faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs and workshops, and the implementation of scientific research projects addressing shared interests. Both parties emphasized building strategic partnerships to advance higher education quality and foster new opportunities for cultural and scientific exchange, strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Widyan highlighted Amman Arab University’s establishment, its colleges, academic programs, specialized centers, and unique disciplines such as Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics Engineering (Bachelor’s), and Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, and Strategic Management (Master’s). He also underscored the university’s commitment to nurturing student innovation, preparing qualified graduates for local and global labor markets, and its pioneering Office of Community Engagement and Responsibility ,the first of its kind among Jordanian universities. Dr. Al-Widyan reiterated the university’s dedication to expanding international academic collaboration and building bridges with global higher education institutions to achieve academic and research excellence.

Ambassador Salimov expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in broadening academic and cultural cooperation with Jordanian universities, praising Amman Arab University’s scientific and research standards and its modern academic programs. He affirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to enhancing scholarly exchange and activating higher education channels between both countries to establish long-term strategic relationships benefiting students, faculty, and administrative staff.

This visit aligns with Amman Arab University’s strategic efforts to build sustainable partnerships with educational institutions, expand academic and research cooperation, and exchange expertise. It reflects the university’s vision of engaging with successful international models, enhancing its regional and global presence through joint programs, student mobility, and scientific-cultural projects supporting both nations' development and educational priorities.
