
Law Students from Amman Arab University Visit the National Center for Human Rights
In an effort to enhance practical knowledge and engagement with specialized institutions, the Faculty of Law at Amman Arab University, in cooperation with the National Center for Human Rights, organized an awareness event aimed at promoting human rights culture. The event was attended by faculty members, including Dr. Mohammad Al-Matalqa, Dr. Enas Al-Khalidi, Dr. Musa Al-Qa'ida, and Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Rashdan, along with a number of law students.
The university delegation was received by His Excellency Mr. Jamal Al-Shamaila, Commissioner General for Human Rights, Dr. Nahla Al-Momani, Protection Commissioner, and Dr. Nidal Muqablah, Promotion Commissioner. The event covered several key themes, including the role of the National Center for Human Rights in monitoring the human rights situation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the mechanisms for preparing reports and documenting violations, as well as the challenges facing the human rights system at both national and international levels.
During the visit, the Center’s efforts in monitoring human rights conditions across various vital sectors under its national mandate were highlighted. The mechanism for receiving and addressing complaints in coordination with relevant authorities was explained, emphasizing an approach that ensures justice and enhances protection. The event also showcased the Center’s awareness and training programs, stressing the critical importance of promoting human rights culture among youth and students. Additionally, contemporary human rights challenges related to artificial intelligence were discussed, along with ways to protect personal data and digital rights amid rapid technological advancements.
The event witnessed positive and productive engagement from attendees, particularly law students from Amman Arab University, through valuable discussions and interventions that reflected their growing awareness of current human rights issues. This initiative is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of human rights within its academic environment and expand partnerships with leading national institutions in this vital field.
