
Interactive Dialogue at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) Strengthens the Spirit of One Family and Reinforces Student Partnership
As part of Amman Arab University’s approach to fostering a “one family” culture and enhancing effective communication channels with students, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an interactive dialogue session that brought together students with Professor Dr. Rana Abu-Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, alongside members of the academic and administrative staff. This initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to building sustainable and engaging communication bridges with its students.
During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Huwaij emphasized the Faculty’s dedication to promoting an academic environment grounded in a sense of unity and belonging, while reinforcing an open-door policy that ensures effective communication with students. She noted that all student suggestions and feedback are given careful consideration and are systematically evaluated, reflecting the Faculty’s firm belief in the importance of genuine partnership in advancing the educational process and enhancing the university environment.
Dr. Abu-Huwaij also commended the vital role played by both academic and administrative staff in supporting the Faculty’s progress and fostering a culture of collaboration and institutional belonging. She expressed appreciation for their efforts in the successful accreditation and structuring of both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, as well as their significant contributions to achieving the American Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accreditation for the first and second time an accomplishment that reflects the Faculty’s distinguished academic and institutional excellence.
She further highlighted the role of student clubs and their year-round activities and programs, emphasizing their contribution to creating a motivating and supportive learning environment that helps shape students’ personalities and develop their skills. Additionally, she stressed the importance of consulting academic advisors prior to course registration, ensuring informed decision-making and a well-structured academic journey. In turn, Dr. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, Chair of the Training Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy, presented the Faculty’s field training framework, outlining its key requirements and stages, as well as the conditions for membership in the Pharmacists Association. This contributes to strengthening students’ professional readiness and enhancing their preparedness for entering the labor market after graduation.
The session witnessed active student engagement through the presentation of various suggestions and feedback. Dr. Abu-Huwaij affirmed that all contributions are taken seriously and addressed within an institutional framework aimed at continuous improvement and effectively meeting students’ needs with flexibility and responsiveness.
The meeting concluded with expressions of appreciation to all participants, underscoring the importance of participatory dialogue in supporting the academic process and fostering a comprehensive educational environment built on interaction and sustainable development.
