Faculty of Pharmacy at "Amman Arab" (AAU) Organizes Health Day for University Community Under the Slogan "Your Health Matters to Us"

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University organized a Health Day event for the university's staff and students under the slogan: "Your Health Matters to Us." The event was attended by Professor Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance, representing the University President, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, a number of faculty members, and university students. This event falls within the Faculty of Pharmacy's efforts to fulfill its active role in promoting community health and raising awareness about the importance of healthcare for the university community.

In this context, Dr. Al-Hamad emphasized the pivotal role played by Amman Arab University in enhancing student awareness, explaining that health is our most valuable asset, the foundation of productivity, and a great blessing that deserves our preservation. It is a cornerstone of success in our academic and professional lives. He indicated that organizing such events aligns with the University's commitment to disseminating a sustainable health culture within the campus and empowering students to adopt healthy lifestyles free from harmful behaviors, foremost among them smoking, thereby embodying the University's vision of building a university environment that supports health and holistic well-being.

For her part, Dr. Abu Huwaij pointed out that organizing this day is part of the Faculty of Pharmacy's efforts to promote a culture of comprehensive health awareness, which integrates physical, mental, and psychological aspects. She stressed that health awareness is a shared responsibility starting from the individual and extending to include the family and society. She explained that health is a renewable positive energy that contributes to stimulating creativity and giving. She added that the Faculty, through its diverse initiatives and events, seeks to empower everyone to adopt balanced, healthy lifestyles and enhance the ability to adapt positively to life and academic pressures, thereby contributing to building a university community enjoying well-being and integrated mental, psychological, and physical health.

The event witnessed broad and active participation from a select group of health institutions and associations, including the King Hussein Cancer Center, Megalab Medical Laboratories, Aqar Drug Warehouse, Jisara Drug Warehouse, the Celiac Patient Care Charity Association, Diet House Nutrition Center, LowCarb Healthy Meals Restaurant, the Sport for Good group, and Grip Fit Sports Club. This was alongside cooperation from the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences, the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Department of Media and Public Relations, and the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences. These diverse participants provided physical and psychological health consultations, in addition to sports, awareness, and charitable activities, aiming to promote the concept of public health and individual and collective health responsibility among the university community and the wider society.

The event also featured distinguished participation from students of the Faculty of Pharmacy across various themes of the Health Day. They actively contributed to organizing the events and participated in the "Ask Your Pharmacist" booth to provide pharmaceutical consultations and health education for the university community. They also participated in the Faculty's smoking cessation clinic by conducting preliminary check-ups and providing awareness consultations about the dangers of smoking and methods to quit, reflecting their professional readiness and ability to serve the community under the supervision of faculty members. Participants praised the level of organization and the diversity of services provided, affirming that this Health Day contributed to raising their health and nutritional awareness and acquainted them with ways to prevent chronic diseases and the importance of regular health follow-ups, expressing their appreciation for the efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Amman Arab University in enhancing their physical and psychological health and well-being.

At the conclusion of the Health Day activities, Professor Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, representing the University President, honored the participating institutions and individuals in recognition of their efforts and contribution to the success of this event, which embodies the University's commitment to spreading health awareness and promoting a culture of holistic well-being within its university community.
