Amman Arab University, represented by its Faculty of Arts and Sciences, participated in a regional training program on "The Role of Young Human Rights Defenders in Promoting and Protecting Human Rights," organized by the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region. The program was conducted through three online training sessions, and the university was represented by Mr. Farhan Alhusban, a faculty member at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The aim of these training sessions is to enhance the skills of young human rights defenders in engaging with international human rights mechanisms, monitoring, and advocacy. The training also seeks to strengthen the capacity of young human rights defenders in the Arab region to interact with the human rights bodies and mechanisms of the United Nations. This phase will be followed by two additional phases. The second phase will focus on developing participants' skills in monitoring and documenting human rights violations, while the third phase will aim to build their abilities in devising advocacy campaign strategies and building regional coalitions.

The first phase of the training program was attended by 33 young human rights defenders from 17 Arab countries.
