The College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University Wins First Place in the Cyber Future – Railway Edition Competition

As part of Amman Arab University's continued commitment to academic excellence and technological innovation, students from the College of Information Technology achieved a distinguished milestone by securing first place in the Cyber Future – Railway Edition (CFR) competition.

The competition, which focuses on cybersecurity, digital technologies, and penetration testing, witnessed broad participation from public and private Jordanian universities, with 14 teams competing at a high technical level.

The winning team, Killer.AAU, consisted of cybersecurity students Amer Ghaith, Mohammad Al-Ajarmeh, Ibrahim Abu Dayyeh, and Abdul Rahman Al-Qaisi. The team was supervised by Dr. Kamal Alieyan, Assistant Dean of the College of Information Technology, and Dr. Bilal Khater from the Cybersecurity Department. The team representing Al al-Bayt University secured second place, while the Hashemite University team ranked third.

Dr. Rami Sihwail, Dean of the College of Information Technology, emphasized that this achievement reflects the college’s integrated efforts in continuously developing curricula, strengthening practical training, and linking academic knowledge to real-world challenges. He noted that participation in specialized competitions enhances students’ technical and research competencies, sharpens analytical thinking, fosters teamwork, and increases readiness for the labor market in alignment with rapid technological advancements.

Dr. Saeed Al-Tahhat, Head of the Cybersecurity Department, expressed his pride in the students’ outstanding performance, highlighting their professionalism, discipline, and technical excellence. He affirmed that the competition provided a valuable practical platform for refining their expertise in cybersecurity.

This accomplishment aligns with the university administration’s strategic direction to support innovation, empower students, and strengthen their engagement in specialized national events. The competition featured participation from leading Jordanian universities, including Yarmouk University, Al al-Bayt University, Jerash University, the Hashemite University, Jadara University, Zarqa University, and Irbid National University.
