Amman Arab University (AAU) Signs Academic Cooperation Agreement with the University of East Anglia to Enhancement Education and Scientific Research
In implementation of the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wediyan, President of Amman Arab University, and under the follow-up of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the University has signed an academic cooperation agreement with the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. This step aims to expand prospects for international collaboration and enhance the quality of education and scientific research.
The agreement seeks to develop cooperation in higher education through the exchange of students and faculty members, the implementation of joint research projects, the development of joint academic programs, and the exchange of scientific expertise between both parties. The University of East Anglia is recognized as a distinguished research university in the UK, enjoying a strong global reputation in scientific research and educational quality, and offering a wide range of advanced academic disciplines. This strengthens the academic experience and opens broader opportunities for international research collaboration.
In this context, Dr. Al-Assaf emphasized that signing this agreement aligns with Amman Arab University’s strategic plan to strengthen its academic presence at both regional and international levels, and to expand partnerships with prestigious, highly ranked global universities and educational institutions. He explained that the University aims, through such agreements, to enhance the quality of education and develop academic programs in line with the latest international standards in higher education, quality assurance, and academic accreditation.
He further added that these partnerships contribute to creating a more open and integrated learning environment, offering students opportunities for academic exchange and exposure to diverse educational experiences. They also empower faculty members to collaborate in joint scientific research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and participate in international conferences, thereby enhancing the University’s academic and research standing. He noted that this agreement represents an important step toward supporting innovation and applied research, and linking educational outcomes with the needs of local and global labor markets.
For his part, Dr. Mohammad Ismail, a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering, highlighted the importance of this partnership in supporting and advancing scientific research, particularly in the fields of renewable energy and environmental sustainability, which are considered globally prioritized sectors. He noted that the agreement will open broad avenues for joint and applied research collaboration between both institutions through shared scientific projects and the exchange of research expertise, ultimately enhancing the production of innovative scientific knowledge.
Dr. Al-Assaf also pointed out that the agreement contributes to strengthening cultural and scientific exchange between the two parties, and to promoting the concept of academic openness and international learning by providing an advanced, globally oriented educational environment. It will offer students broader opportunities to acquire academic and practical knowledge, gain exposure to diverse educational experiences, refine their skills, and expand their academic horizons—thus enhancing their readiness to effectively engage in both local and international labor markets.
