The College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University (AAU) Participates in the Conference on Progress, Innovation, and Technology in Cybersecurity (C8 2025)

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University participated in the Conference and Exhibition on Progress, Innovation, and Technology in Cybersecurity (C8 2025). The event was organized by the National Cybersecurity Center, the Jordanian Design and Development Center (JODD), and SOFEX Jordan at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center – Dead Sea.

Representing Amman Arab University at the conference were Dr. Rami Sihwail, Dean of the College of Information Technology; Dr. Kamal Alieyan, Assistant Dean; Dr. Afaf Adinat, Assistant Dean; and Dr. Hana Abu Hashem, college member of the college. The conference witnessed broad participation from experts, specialists, and national and international organizations working in the field of cybersecurity.

The conference aimed to address the latest developments and challenges in the fields of cyber protection and cyber defense. It featured a series of specialized activities, most notably the “Dot Cyber” Cyber Security Summit, the “Armitheon” competition dedicated to military and security agencies, and the Artificial Intelligence Exhibition on Defense and Cybersecurity Technologies, in addition to hands-on simulation sessions and a live hacking competition.

Dr. Sihwail emphasized the importance of the active participation of college members and students in such scientific conferences, noting that they provide an opportunity to stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in cybersecurity. He added that these events contribute to enhancing the capabilities of the university’s academic and student community in addressing escalating cyber challenges. They also enable participants to exchange expertise with local and international professionals, thereby strengthening the university’s role in fostering innovation and building a qualified generation capable of keeping pace with modern digital security technologies.

The participation of Amman Arab University in this event reflects its commitment to strengthening its academic presence in advanced technological fields, and to supporting its students and college members in exploring the latest advancements in cybersecurity and modern defense technologies. This involvement contributes to developing their skills, expanding their knowledge, and keeping pace with rapid developments in this vital sector.
