
College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University Organizes 'Professional Translator' Competition to Enhance Simultaneous Interpretation Skills
The College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University organized the "Professional Translator" competition, hosted by the Department of English Language and Translation in collaboration with the University's Languages and Translation Center. The event was supervised by Dr. Ahmad Tawalbeh, Head of the English Language and Translation Department; Dr. Ayman Al-Talahin; Mr. Tariq Farghal; and Dr. Abdalaziz Al-Fawareh, Director of the Languages and Translation Center.
The competition featured a group of students who underwent a simultaneous interpretation test. Participants listened to an English text and instantly translated it into Arabic, with their performance evaluated in real-time by a judging panel consisting of Dr. Ahmad Tawalbeh, Dr. Ayman Al-Talahin, and Mr. Tariq Farghal. Eleven students advanced to the final stage, with the following results First place, Layan Tahseen Saleh Second place, Aisha Rawa’f Sobh Third place, Malak Mohammad Tameza
The winners were honored by Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, University President, and Dr. Muteb Mohammad Al-Utaibi, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, who awarded them prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance.
This initiative is part of a series of activities carried out by the College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan and the supervision of Dr. Muteb Mohammad Al-Utaibi, Dean of the College, and Dr. Yazan Al-Mahamid, Assistant Dean. It aligns with the university’s vision of supporting students academically, enhancing their English language skills, and developing their intellectual abilities through purposeful extracurricular activities.
