Aviation Faculty Engages in Regional Astronomy and Space Conference
Under the directives of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, the Faculty of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University, represented by its Dean Prof. Dr. Malik Al-Salem Al-Anaqreh, participated in the 7th Regional Conference of the International Astronomical Union (MEARIM 2025) in the Middle East and Africa.
The conference, hosted by the University of Jordan, aimed to foster regional cooperation in astronomy and space sciences. Dr. Al-Anaqreh supervised student research projects, including a notable paper on using AI and autonomous landing technologies to improve the accuracy and safety of spacecraft landings on unfamiliar planetary terrain.
Additionally, Dr. Bishar Badr announced the establishment of a Jordan chapter of the Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) at the university, highlighting a significant step towards advancing research and innovation in space systems and electronics. This participation underscores the university's commitment to contributing to specialized fields like space science and aviation engineering.
