Arab Amman University (AAU) Achieves an Unprecedented Arab Milestone by Qualifying the Avionics Program for International (AABI) Accreditation

In a distinguished and unprecedented academic achievement at both the local and Arab levels, Amman Arab University has received approval from the Board of Trustees of the U.S.-based Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) to qualify the Avionics Science Program (Avionics B2) for international accreditation. This approval was based on the presentation and discussions held during the Board meeting that took place last month in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

The decision includes the Bachelor’s Program in Avionics (Avionics B2), which was launched by Amman Arab University in the academic year 2022/2023. This program is considered the first and only program of its kind in the Arab world in this specialized and vital field related to the modern aviation industry.

In This context, Professor Dr. Malek Al-Salem Al-Anaqrah, Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University, stated that since its inception, the faculty has obtained accreditation from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-147 as a training and examination center. This reflects the program’s readiness and its compliance with the highest international technical and academic standards in the field of aircraft maintenance and avionics.

He added that this achievement is a continuation of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences’ journey of excellence at the university. Previously, the Bachelor’s Program in Aircraft Maintenance had received accreditation from the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) until 2030, further reinforcing Amman Arab University’s position as a leading academic institution in aviation education at both the regional and international levels.

This approval reflects the international organization’s confidence in the quality of the academic programs offered by Amman Arab University and in the university’s ability to meet international accreditation requirements in accordance with the highest quality standards. It also highlights the university’s continuous commitment to developing its academic programs and keeping pace with the latest global developments in education and training.

With this achievement, Amman Arab University becomes the first Jordanian and Arab University to obtain AABI international accreditation qualification in the field of Avionics in the region and the Arab world, and the second university worldwide to achieve this milestone after a specialized university in China.
