Amman Arab University (AAU) Celebrates the Graduation of the First Cohort of the Master’s Program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of Amman Arab University, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a ceremony honoring the graduates of the first cohort of the Master’s program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs. The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Ismail Yamin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huweij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, along with members of the academic and administrative staff, and the graduates’ families.

On this occasion, Dr. Al-Widian expressed his pride and appreciation for the graduates on completing their studies as the first cohort of the Master’s program, considering this achievement a culmination of their academic efforts and a milestone in the journey of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the University. He also praised the academic accomplishments of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the outstanding efforts of its academic and administrative staff in ensuring the success of this distinguished program. Dr. Al-Widian reaffirmed Amman Arab University’s commitment to preparing qualified pharmaceutical professionals equipped with scientific knowledge and specialized skills, capable of contributing effectively to enhancing drug safety and developing regulatory frameworks within the healthcare sector. He wished the graduates continued excellence and success in their academic and professional careers.

For her part, Dr. Abu Huweij expressed her pride in this distinguished group of graduates, emphasizing that the graduation of the first cohort represents a pivotal milestone in the academic journey of the Faculty of Pharmacy and reflects the success of its vision to introduce high-quality programs aligned with the needs of the labor market locally, regionally, and internationally. She explained that the Master’s program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs was designed based on advanced scientific foundations to prepare competent pharmaceutical professionals capable of leading the pharmaceutical sector in accordance with the highest international standards. She added that the program offers an integrated educational experience that combines academic knowledge with practical application through specialized training, opportunities to obtain internationally recognized professional certifications such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and broad prospects in research and development and clinical trials. The program also strengthens partnerships with the healthcare sector and enables students to work on real field-based research projects focused on analyzing adverse drug reactions, evaluating drug safety, and proposing innovative and sustainable solutions to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines.

The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the graduates of the first cohort of the Master’s program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs: Pharmacist Islam Al-Halman, Pharmacist Abeer Taqi Al-Din, and Pharmacist Nora Sharaf. Commemorative shields and symbolic gifts were presented in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected Amman Arab University’s pride in these promising national talents.
