Dean of Student Affairs at Amman Arab University Meets with the Representative of the National Center for Human Rights

Prof. Khaled Bani Hamdan/Dean of Student Affairs at Amman Arab University received Professor. Issa Al-Hawawsheh /Head of the Fundamental Rights and Freedoms Unit at the National Center for Human Rights, on Tuesday, 10/17/2023. Prof. Bani Hamdan welcomed Al-Hawawsheh at Amman Arab University, and stated that the University are fully prepared to cooperate with the National Center for Human Rights .He added that Amman Arab University has always been the first incubator for its students, and always propagating new generation that bears responsibility and realizes its role in the renaissance of our dear homeland.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Hawawsheh provided an introductory overview of the National Center for Human Rights, which is considered a national institution of public benefit, and carries out its duties and all activities and events related to human rights, including monitoring and receiving complaints. He pointed out that the Center enjoys an “A” rating from the international accreditation body affiliated with the coalition of International National Human Rights Institutions.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Al-Hawawsheh explained that the Center is in the process of forming a national team to monitor the electoral process for the twentieth House of Representatives, where the youth category (students from Jordanian universities) will constitute a third of this team, and the mission of the Deanship of Student Affairs will be to nominate 25-30 qualified male and female students from all majors, to undergo an intensive training to monitor the electoral process.
