Amman – Coping with Amman Arab University's plan to develop distinguished and unique programs, the University obtained the approval of the Higher Education Council in its recent session to create a Bachelor's degree in avionics sciences at the College of Aviation Sciences, and a master's program in Applied Linguistics.

On this occasion, the President of the University, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, said that this trend represents a dedication to the vision and mission of the University that it pursues to develop majors that meet the needs of the growing labor market locally and regionally and enhance employment opportunities and according to the University’s plans to develop other quality programs in unique fields such as computer science and information technology in the future.

Where the major in avionics is the first of its kind in the region and the most closely related to the labor market in the field of aviation, and the most realistic in achieving its basic requirements, as this major is concerned with the requirements for maintenance of avionics with wide and diverse applications in the field of aviation and is linked to several engineering specializations based on networking between disciplines  and its belief in the compatibility of the scientific vision with the practical reality imposed by the requirements of the labor market.

In this regard, the Dean of the College of Aviation Sciences, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, said that this program is an investment and a title for the participation of all professional, educational, regulatory, governmental and private bodies to control and provide operational opportunities and skills required for the labor market, and to fill the shortfall in the outputs of this program locally, regionally and globally, as the work of graduates is governed by the requirements of merit according to international standards. Global studies indicate a large gap between the needs of the market and what is available, and there is a large shortage of technicians in this field.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Yousef Al-Qudah said that this major represents a qualitative addition in the College of Arts and Sciences, and this major is considered one of the modern majors, and it will be the first of its kind at the master’s level in middle universities. This achievement is the culmination of the tireless and distinguished efforts in the Department of English Language and translation, the Deanship of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Department, and support from the University administration in this direction.
