Amman Arab University Hosts Iftar Banquet for Orphans and Underprivileged Families in Mahis as Part of Community Outreach
Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and fostering solidarity, Amman Arab University's College of Arts and Sciences—in collaboration with the Office of Practical Education, Innovation, and Community Service—partnered with the Thawat Afnan Association and the Social Security Retirees Association to organize an Iftar banquet for orphans and underprivileged families in Mahis. The initiative reflects the University's dedication to supporting local communities and improving living conditions for vulnerable groups. The event was attended by Dr. Mutaib Alotaibi, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Tariq Al-Wreikat, faculty member at the College; and Dr. Basma Abu Jabber, Director of the Social Work and Innovation Office at the University.
During the event, Dr. Alotaibi honored several prominent figures from Mahis, including the mayors of Mahis and Fuheis municipalities and the head of the Social Security Retirees Association, in recognition of their significant contributions to community development and sustainable social initiatives. This gesture underscored the University's commitment to strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders in service of the community.
In turn, the Social Security Retirees Association honored Dr. Alotaibi in appreciation of his leadership and Amman Arab University's ongoing efforts to support community-driven programs and sustainable development. This Iftar banquet forms part of the University's broader series of initiatives designed to promote active civic engagement and nurture a culture of generosity among students and community members alike.
