Princess Basma Ali Sponsors the "International Forum of Food Security” at Amman Arab University
The "International Forum of Food Security” at Amman Arab University was held under the porterage of Princess Basma Ali, with the aim of addressing challenges and opportunities related to food security. The forum stressed the necessity of collaborative efforts among, private sectors, government and relevant bodies to address the challenge of food insecurity, which poses significant risks to communities, particularly Gaza that faces dire shortages.
Prof. Mohammad Al-Widyan stated that food security is a critical international and regional issue. Prof Al-Widyan stressed the importance of food security for health and stability. Dr. Sherin Abu Ghazaleh emphasized the need for inclusive strategies to ensure food sustainability to encounter economic and climate challenges.
The forum covered specialized discussions by experts on various topics. The discussions were centered mainly on food security, including national strategies, water security, and the role of technology and youth. The forum concluded with recommendations aiming at fostering food security and addressing existing challenges in addition to call for increasing collaborative actions in the region.
