Amman Arab University Achieves Advanced Results in Scimago Classification Locally, Regionally and Internationally for 2024
Amman Arab University ranked first, for the second time in a row, among all Jordanian state and private universities in the Scimago international classification for the year 2024, as Amman Arab University was listed in the first category, Q1, among the best international universities, with a world record ranking.
Among (25) local state and private universities, (338) Arab universities, and (4762) international universities, Amman Arab University achieved first place in the overall total locally for the standards approved by the classification, and (8) place in the Arab world, and (1343) place globally.
According to specializations, the results were as follows:
Computer Science is the first major locally, regionally, and internationally
Engineering and aviation majors are the first locally, Arab and 14 internationally
Mathematics is the first major locally and the third in the Arab world
Law is third locally and the fifteenth in the Arab world
Social sciences major is fifth locally and 39th among Arabs
Majoring in Business Administration and Accounting, 12th locally and 72nd Arab
Education is the eighteenth major locally and 104th among Arabs
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, indicated that the university’s obtaining these advanced ranks comes as a result of the efforts of all the university’s employees and their work within a clear strategic plan based on scientific foundations, in addition to the excellence of the university’s faculty members, looking forward to obtaining more rankings.
Prof. Al-Widyan added that the university’s obtaining this classification for the second time in a row reinforces the firm conviction of the importance of striving hard for each of us to make a distinguished effort to move our university forward to occupy
A prestigious position and a good reputation among its counterparts, and to advance the process of education, learning and scientific research by harnessing our energies and directing them towards the best to serve the community and the nation within the university’s available capabilities.
It is noteworthy that the Scimago World Classification has been issued since 2009 by the Scimago Research Foundation, based in Spain, whose membership includes prestigious international research institutions and universities. The classification is based on three sub-indicators: scientific research with a weight of 50%, innovation with a weight of 30%, and societal impact with a weight of 20%. These standards include 17 sub-indicators to accurately evaluate academic institutions.
