Academic Cooperation between “Amman Arab University” and Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand
Amman - President of Amman Arab University, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, received in his office the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Jordan, Mr. Adisak Jantatom. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing aspects of academic, scientific and research cooperation and accepting more students at the University, in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor. Khaled. Bani Hamdan, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Alaa Al-Bawat, Director of the International Office and External Relations, Dr. Muhammad Mufid Sahwil, Dean of the College of Sharia, Dr. Bilal Abu Qaddoum, and Mr. Anas Kaso from the Department of Media and Public Relations.
During the meeting, Prof. Al-Widyan presented the establishment of Amman Arab University, the stages that the University went through, the majors available at the university, and the University’s vision in taking aspects of excellence and creating a competitive advantage in several directions, the most important of which are the unique majors of its kind, such as aviation electronics sciences, digital marketing, data science and artificial intelligence.
In turn, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Bani Hamdan, pointed out that the University received a letter from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand to provide the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the essay competition to design a strategy to promote tourism in Jordan with the aim of expanding awareness and knowledge. He stated that the Deanship of Student Affairs is working to create and prepare cultural, sports, artistic and social programs that meet the needs of students, in addition to extending and building bridges of cooperation with institutions from inside and outside Jordan.
The Director of the International Office and External Relations, Dr. Sahwil, also confirmed that the University always seeks to create partnerships for academic exchange, students and research projects, welcoming the provision of educational opportunities from the Kingdom of Thailand for university students to complete their studies in Thai universities at all levels and for all specializations, and stated that the University is working to establish joint academic programs, and cooperation in the field of joint scientific research and student exchange with various Arab and international universities. He pointed out that one of the goals of the International Office and Foreign Relations is to open channels of communication with higher education institutions and research centers locally, regionally and internationally
The Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Dr. Abu Qaddoum, stated that the increase in the number of students enrolled in the College of Sharia at Amman Arab University from East Asian countries comes from the philosophy of the college and university to expand to all countries of the world by offering scholarships to specialize in jurisprudence and its principles and to prepare the leading preacher who possesses an intelligent mind and a pure heart.
For his part, the Thai Ambassador, Mr. Adisak, praised the University’s efforts in attracting students from outside Jordan to study the Arabic language and Sharia sciences. He stressed that the embassy is following up on student affairs at all levels, praising the level of higher education in Jordan, especially Amman Arab University, through the preparation of qualified and trained staff that meet the needs of the market locally and internationally
