
Four Teams from Amman Arab University (AAU) Excel in National Sumo Robotics Championship
Demonstrating Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing student participation in all local and international forums and affirming the distinguished capabilities of its students in technology and innovation, the university participated in the Fourth National Sumo Robotics Championship organized by Al Hussein Technical University. The championship saw participation from over 230 teams representing universities, schools, companies, and educational and technological institutions across the Kingdom.
The university was represented in the championship by four student teams under the supervision of the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at Amman Arab University, represented by Engineer Yaqoub Al-Qarain from the Technical Support and Digital Fabrication Division. This participation results from diligent efforts and continuous work reflecting the university's dedication to enabling its students to gain practical experience in robotics, innovation, and artificial intelligence, aligning with its vision to equip students with modern applied skills and enhance their spirit of innovation and teamwork.
The four distinguished student teams participating in the championship included Team MechaMinds, comprising students from the College of Information Technology: Abeer Fayez, Noor Al-Nasayrah, and Huda Hammad; Team 7Oct, which included students Ahmed You and Nawras Bin Tarif from the College of Aviation Sciences, along with Jehad Odeh and Ali Shaheen from the College of Information Technology; Team TriNova, composed of students from the College of Information Technology: Sandos Kayali, Ghuroob Ghanem, and Reema Aqel; and Team Lore, which included students from the College of Information Technology: Ahmad Nabras, Bisan Asmaran, Rama Raed, and Youssef Yaseen. The participation of these teams embodies the advanced level reached by Amman Arab University students in technology and innovation, reflecting the university's commitment to enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical projects that enhance their creative and technical skills.
It is noteworthy that the participating teams delivered outstanding performances across various stages of the competition and achieved advanced rankings after strong competition with several participating universities, especially considering this was their first participation. The participants underwent a distinctive experience that equipped them with many new skills, immersed them in an exciting and motivating competitive atmosphere, and provided an opportunity for knowledge enrichment and practical application.
