
The Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University (AAU) Meets with Its Students
As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to strengthening direct communication between the academic administration and students, and under the directives of the University President, Professor Mohammad Al-Wediyan, the Faculty of Engineering organized an extensive orientation meeting. The event brought together the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, heads of academic departments, faculty and administrative staff, along with current students and alumni.
Dr. Al-Assaf opened the meeting by welcoming attendees and emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in supporting students’ academic journeys and familiarizing them with the faculty’s environment and programs. He provided an overview of the Faculty of Engineering and its academic offerings, explaining course registration procedures, the blended learning system, and e-learning mechanisms. He also stressed the importance of attending face-to-face lectures and maintaining consistent engagement with online learning.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Assaf delivered a comprehensive explanation of course learning outcomes, highlighting that they focus on three main pillars: knowledge, competencies, and skills. He encouraged students to prioritize these aspects as the foundation for achieving academic excellence. The meeting also addressed the importance of practical and field training in enhancing students’ skills, with a review of academic and career pathways aligned with labor market demands.
In addition, the session introduced extracurricular activities and initiatives implemented by the Faculty, such as the Jordanian Aviation Safety Project and its associated free training courses. Dr. Al-Assaf also advised students expected to graduate to begin early preparation for the University Proficiency Exam, stressing the importance of serious preparation to achieve the best possible results.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion, allowing students to raise their questions and share feedback. Dr. Al-Assaf reaffirmed the Faculty’s commitment to providing a supportive academic environment based on positive dialogue and constructive engagement.
This meeting is part of a series of orientation sessions organized by the Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University, aimed at enhancing student integration into university life, fostering a sense of belonging, and raising awareness of their academic and professional pathways, ultimately preparing them to enter the labor market with competence and distinction.
