Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University (AAU) Hosts One of Its Alumni in a Lecture on “Preparing Aviation Sciences Students for the Job Market – A Success Story”

As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to strengthening communication between students and alumni and promoting the exchange of practical experience, and under the guidance of the University President, Prof. Mohammad Al-Widian, and with the support of the Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences, Prof. Malek Al-Salem Al-Anagra, the Faculty hosted alumnus Eng. Khaled Al-Habarneh to deliver a lecture entitled “Preparing Aviation Sciences Students for the Job Market – A Success Story” via the Microsoft Teams platform. The lecture aimed to reinforce the practical dimension of the educational process and enhance students’ technical competencies in line with the needs and requirements of the labor market.

The workshop addressed a number of key themes related to the demands of the aviation labor market, focusing on the most important skills and competencies that Aviation Sciences students must acquire to enhance their competitiveness and achieve professional excellence. It also highlighted the practical aspects adopted by companies and institutions operating in the aviation sector when recruiting qualified personnel, outlining professional workplace standards, career development mechanisms, and effective strategies for planning a successful career that aligns with the aspirations of professionals in this vital sector.

During the workshop, Eng. Al-Habarneh emphasized the importance of adhering to professional standards and workplace discipline, noting that success in the aviation sector requires an integrated combination of academic competence, personal skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development. He also shared his professional journey and success story, reviewing the stages of his career progression over the years, along with the challenges and achievements that contributed to refining his expertise and enabling him to assume advanced positions in the aviation field.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Eng. Al-Habarneh offered valuable advice to Aviation Sciences students, stressing the importance of continuous self-development and skills enhancement, as well as placing particular emphasis on mastering the English language due to its pivotal role in the aviation sector. He also highlighted the importance of starting early in completing the requirements for obtaining the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification in the modules students have already completed during their academic journey, given its positive impact on enhancing employment opportunities both locally and internationally.

This workshop is part of a series of activities and events organized by the Faculty of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University, aimed at bridging the gap between academic study and practical application, and preparing students to meet labor market requirements and contribute effectively to the development of the aviation sector.
