In implementation of the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wedian, President of Amman Arab University, and under the follow-up of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Department of Architecture at Amman Arab University held a specialized training workshop entitled “Sound Insulation in Buildings.” The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Hanan Ahmad, a faculty member at the college, and targeted architecture students from various academic years, with the aim of introducing them to the importance of sound insulation in improving indoor environmental quality and reducing the negative impacts of noise.

During the workshop, Dr. Hanan addressed the practical and applied aspects related to the different types of sound insulation, the materials used, and the methods of designing and implementing insulation systems in various types of buildings, with a particular focus on residential and commercial buildings. The workshop also included hands-on training on the use of engineering software for sound insulation analysis, as well as case studies of projects in which sound insulation had been successfully implemented. In addition, key challenges that architects may face in this field were discussed, along with effective strategies to overcome them, contributing to achieving higher levels of user comfort.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants praised its significance in strengthening the applied dimension of architectural education and preparing students to address the requirements of sustainable and energy-efficient design. Dr. Hanan also emphasized the importance of integrating such topics into academic curricula to keep pace with modern developments in architecture and building practices.
