Amman Arab University (AAU) Participates in the Third Edition of the Robbing Balloons Competition

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the digital skills of its students, Amman Arab University participated in the third edition of the Robbing Balloons Competition, a competitive programming contest organized by the Atypical Society. The event, hosted at the American University of Madaba, brought together distinguished student teams from various universities across the Kingdom. The competition featured a dynamic format, with three teams from each university striving to achieve the highest score. A team of school students also took part, reflecting the organizers’ commitment to supporting emerging talents and encouraging the development of computational thinking and programming skills at an early age.

Amman Arab University participated with three student teams consisting of Laith Al-Haddad, Ahmed Salem, Mohammad Sarsour, Ahmed Abdullah, Ali Al-Ashqar, Nour Al-Zoubi, Malek Khundakji, Ahmed Al-Khasawneh, and Jood Al-Ghamdi. This participation provided a valuable opportunity for the students to test their abilities in competitive programming, teamwork, and problem solving within a real competitive environment. Dr. Mamdouh Jumaa, faculty member in the College of Information Technology, supervised the teams while Ms. Randa Al-Wadi, also a faculty member in the College of Information Technology, managed the overall coordination of the participation in collaboration with the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at Amman Arab University.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Rami Sihwail, Dean of the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University, emphasized that the students’ involvement in this competition aligns with the college’s vision of strengthening their applied and practical skills, and supporting participation in specialized events that foster innovation and excellence. He highlighted that competitive programming is one of the most effective tools for enhancing students’ proficiency and preparing them for the rapidly evolving technology job market.

For his part, Dr. Samer Ayasrah, Director of the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at Amman Arab University, noted that the center continues to support student initiatives that open new horizons for technological innovation. He stated that participation in such competitions helps sharpen computational thinking skills and allows students to engage with innovative environments that encourage entrepreneurship in technology and programming fields.

It is noteworthy that Amman Arab University’s participation in this event reaffirms its steadfast commitment to fostering an advanced educational environment grounded in excellence, creativity, and innovation.
