Amman Arab University’s (AAU) Pharmacy Faculty Strengthens Community Role, Serving over 60 Visitors during Free Medical Day in Ain Al-Basha

As part of the ongoing initiatives by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) and within its commitment to social responsibility and serving the local community, the faculty participated in organizing and managing pharmacy operations during a Free Medical Day. The event was held at Al-Baqa’a Secondary School for Boys in the Ain Al-Basha district under the supervision of faculty member Dr. Anas Al-Shweiki, with the active participation of pharmacy students: Aya Shabita, Areen Mohammad Salem, Aya Al-Sharif, Dima Al-Sayyah, and Abdul Rahman Al-Zoubi.

AAU’s participation included providing a diverse range of free medications and nutritional supplements to patients and visitors of all ages.

Specialized professional pharmaceutical consultations were also offered in cooperation with public sector pharmacists from the Ministry of Health, the Local Community Service Committee of the Jordan Pharmacists Association, and various supporting pharmaceutical companies and warehouses. These collective efforts successfully served more than 60 patients with diverse health needs.

Professor Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at AAU, emphasized the importance of such qualitative participation in solidifying the faculty's community role. She noted that these initiatives bridge the gap between academic and practical application, helping prepare students who possess both professional competence and ethical commitment. She further highlighted that these efforts enhance the presence of pharmacists within the local community and instill humanitarian values in students, reflecting the noble mission of the pharmacy profession and its pivotal role in supporting the health system.
