Distinguished (78) Companies Participated in the Ninth Career Day at Amman Arab University

The President of Amman Arab University, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, received in his office Dr. Reham Al-Hadid, Director of the First Amman Employment Directorate, representing the Minister of Labor, His Excellency Mrs. Nadia Al-Rawabdeh, in the presence of Professor. Ismail Yamin, Assistant of the President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, Assistant of the President for Planning and Quality Assurance, and Professor. Khaled Bani Hamdan, Dean. Student Affairs and a delegation from the Ministry of Labor.

Dr. Al-Hadid, on behalf of His Excellency the Minister, sponsored the activities of the “Ninth Career Day” with the participation of (78) leading companies and institutions in various fields, the most important of which are management, pharmacy, information technology, educational sciences and aviation sciences, which is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs / Office of Career Guidance and Follow-up on an annual basis in cooperation with the university’s colleges, which, many job opportunities are provided for students and graduates of Amman Arab University.

The Director of the First Amman Employment Directorate, Dr. Al-Hadid, opened the career day, in the presence of Professor. Ismail Yamin, Assistant of the President for Academic Affairs, deans of colleges, members of the academic and administrative bodies, and students. She pointed out that the job fairs held by the Ministry of Labor in partnership with all national institutions come within the executive plan of the Ministry through the labor directorates to contribute more broadly to providing job opportunities of various types and bridging the distance between institutions, companies and members of local communities.

In this regard, Dr. Yamin said in his speech on behalf of Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of the University, that Amman Arab University has been holding career days for university students in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, in response to and interpretation of the High Royal directives calling for creating job opportunities for Jordanian youth, especially students in Jordanian universities, in light of the size of the challenges encountering university graduates in obtaining jobs suitable for their specializations, in addition to the fact that this event comes from the vision and mission of Amman Arab University and its sense of its societal responsibility to prepare plans and training programs that work to develop and enhance the skills of its students. He also thanked during his speech all the supporters and participants

For his part, Professor. Khaled Bani Hamdan, Dean of Student Affairs, stated that the University seeks to provide job and employment opportunities for its students and members of the local community, based on its responsibility to contribute to development processes. He pointed out that this exhibition is the ninth organized by Amman Arab University, and referred to the initiative launched by the university. It is considered unique at the university level and is a student skills portfolio that allows students to acquire various training skills that qualify them for the labor market.

It is noteworthy that this day was a source of support for many graduate students and provided them with the opportunity to submit (256) employment applications to the companies participating in the career day, and they will subsequently undergo employment procedures, including interviews and tests, according to the system in force in the companies.

The career day included the implementation of a training workshop presented by Dr. Imad Al-Mualla, a faculty member at the College of Business at Amman Arab University, entitled “Preparing a CV,” which prepares students for the labor market and focuses on how to write a CV in a professional manner, in addition to the importance of creating a distinct CV that attracts attention in providing valuable guidance aimed at preparing job seekers and enabling them to apply their skills and experiences in a way that enables them to create a distinguished CV and advanced letters that will lead them to achieving practical goals during their job search.
