Amman Arab University and iPARK / Royal Scientific Society Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Coping with the complementarity between Amman Arab University and local community institutions in the field of creativity, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, idea ownership (IP) protection, and technology commercialization, participating in the “Network of Jordanian Technology Transfer Offices,” Amman Arab University, represented by the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, and iPARK, the Royal Scientific Society Represented by the Intellectual Property Commercialization Office, signed a memorandum of understanding .

The agreement was signed by Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and Engineer Omar Hamarneh, Executive Director of iPARK / Royal Scientific Society, in the presence of Dr. Samer Ayasrah, Director of the Center for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Mr. Anas Kaso from the Department of Media and Public Relations.

In this regard, prof. Al-Widyan said that this agreement is part of a series of agreements through which the university is linked to a network of relationships to provide the necessary expertise necessary to activate the role of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship for university students, members of the teaching and administrative bodies, and the local community, which has become one of the most important priorities in the Arab and international worlds due to what it has achieved. Among its many advantages, the most prominent of which is achieving comprehensive economic and social development, creating many job opportunities, and providing Achieve sustainable development by creating qualified, innovative, entrepreneurial generations capable of competing globally.

In turn, Hamarneh stressed that the network of technology transfer offices aims to be a national body that includes several academic and industrial institutions, with the aim of facilitating the transfer of new Jordanian technologies from their original academic sources to society through the efforts of the private sector, while ensuring that the new technologies are properly protected, stressing their interest in networking with universities. It is noteworthy that the memorandum came to establish mechanisms for joint cooperation in many fields and to develop and implement the policies, regulations and initiatives that will be agreed upon later to support innovation and leadership through joint projects to be agreed upon, as well as promoting the concepts of technology transfer and innovation among students and members of the academic and administrative staff through workshops, initiatives and disseminating entrepreneurship awareness among students and members of the academic and administrative staff through specific initiatives and programs and creating vocational training and work opportunities for students and new graduates.
