Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) Enhances Student Expertise Through Scientific Visit to Center of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Industries
Demonstrating its commitment to strengthening practical skills and bridging theoretical concepts with real-world applications, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University organized a routine scientific visit to the Center of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Industries affiliated with the Vocational Training Corporation in Al-Salt. Conducted as part of the "Industrial Pharmacy" course requirements, the visit included pharmacy students accompanied by Industrial Pharmacy Laboratory Supervisor, Chemical Engineer Aisha Jarrah.
During the tour, students observed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards implemented in the pharmaceutical sector. They examined the complete drug manufacturing sequence—from raw materials through production and quality control stages to final product packaging. Participants were also introduced to modern manufacturing technologies and stringent product quality monitoring systems. As an integral component of the course's approved training plan, the visit aimed to familiarize students with actual workplace environments in pharmaceutical factories while developing their technical competencies to enhance professional readiness.
Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, emphasized that incorporating regular field visits into academic curricula represents a fundamental strategy adopted by the faculty to empower students in building robust knowledge foundations and practical skills for workplace excellence. Students expressed significant benefit from the visit, noting it provided invaluable firsthand exposure to industrial operations and effectively connected academic learning with professional practice.
