AAU Wins a Second European Funded Master Program Project

In accordance with AAU’s successful efforts in international orientation and enhancement of global presence, it has successively received a joint Master Program project titled: Hydro-Infographics for Mediterranean and Arid Environments (High-Med). It is the second European winning project of AAU during this month, funded by Erasmus +, that aims to establish a joint Master’s Program in a unique field globally through a High-Med project focused on innovations in water resource management. Universities and establishments from Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Holland, Palestine, and Jordan are participating in this project, wherein AAU represents the Jordanian partner.
Partners of the project will establish the program where courses are taught at the partner’s university, and prepare the Master Thesis in one of the partner universities. The students will receive a Master’s degree from the university in which they completed at least one semester, which in turn provides the opportunity to obtain jobs or complete a Ph.D. at the partner university.
Professor Mohamad Al-Widyan, president of AAU, expressed his strong gratitude for winning this project, as well as for the notable distinction of this significant issue. More specifically, for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s great challenge of water shortage. Professor Al-Widyan indicated that AAU is working institutionally through the establishment of specific policies that will encourage researchers to apply for international projects, and to engage in external funding programs both locally and internationally. He also added that through this unique program, grants will be offered for distinguished students from all over the world, which will enhance the quality of outcomes and participate in transferring and mutually benefiting from the unprecedented and outstanding technology.
