
The College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University organizes a charitable Iftar for orphans in collaboration with the "Kon Ghaithan" Association
With a vibrant spirit of giving and a soul filled with solidarity and social cooperation, the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University organized a charitable Ramadan Iftar in collaboration with the " Kon Ghaithan " Association for more than 50 orphaned children. The event took place in a special Ramadan atmosphere full of love and generosity, reflecting the role of the College of Pharmacy in supporting less fortunate groups and instilling the values of giving and solidarity in the hearts of students. It also embodied the spirit of love and cooperation among the members of the community, promoting the noble human values that Amman Arab University is known for.
The charitable Iftar included many recreational and interactive activities with the children, as well as face painting, aimed at developing the children's sensory, cognitive, and physical skills. The event was followed by the distribution of gifts, toys, sweets, and Eid clothing to all the children.
This initiative was organized by the Student Club Committee of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, headed by Dr. Dina Abu Saleh, with the participation of 21 male and female students who worked diligently to ensure the success of this event. Their efforts included logistical preparations, organizing activities, purchasing gifts, and interacting directly with the children. Members of the teaching and administrative staff also participated in the Iftar, interacting with the children and contributing to various activities. Additionally, several alumni of the college, including pharmacists Sohaib Talafha, Anas Khabbas, and Sarah Alyan, were present and interacted with the children, demonstrating their loyalty and affiliation with the college and the university. The faculty members expressed their pride in seeing students and alumni organizing such events, reflecting the moral values and human principles that Amman Arab University seeks to instill in them.
For her part, Professor Dr. Rania Abuhweij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, emphasized the importance of such humanitarian initiatives organized by the college, noting their significant positive impact on students and the community, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, a time for giving and charity. She pointed out that these activities are not merely voluntary, but a real opportunity to build bridges of love and solidarity between the academic community and the local community, fostering a sense of giving and belonging among students and reinforcing the values of volunteerism and teamwork. Dr. Abuhweij also highlighted the important role the College of Pharmacy plays in offering ongoing community initiatives aimed at serving less fortunate groups, and extended her sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of these initiatives.
At the end of the event, the children expressed their immense happiness and gratitude to Amman Arab University and the College of Pharmacy for this generous gesture. The " Kon Ghaithan " Association also praised the university's efforts in organizing such activities, which reflect the meanings of compassion and community solidarity and contribute to bringing smiles to the faces of children.
