Training Workshop in “Journalistic Translation” at Amman Arab University
Deanship of Student Affairs/Office of Career Guidance and Alumni Follow-up, in cooperation with the College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University, organized a training workshop entitled “Journalistic Translation,” targeting students at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, graduates, and the local community. It was presented by Dr. Ayman Al-Talahin, a faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University.
At the beginning of the workshop, Professor. Khalid Bani Hamdan, Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed Dr. Ayman Al-Talahin and the workshop participants, and praised the readiness of the College of Arts and Sciences, represented by its Dean, Dr. Wafa Al-Eid, and their valuable efforts in enriching the students’ experience and providing them with personal and practical skills that will help them to engage in the labor market
It is noteworthy that the implementation of the workshop is regarded as one of the training courses and workshops implemented by the office in cooperation with academic colleges within the student’s skills portfolio, as the workshop aimed to introduce the trainees to the basic and advanced methods of the foundations of media translation, and to introduce them to the types and media of media texts, especially political and economic, and how to acquire skills for linguistic formulation. It received clear interaction and great interest from the trainees by providing practical, interactive examples.
